Faith – Mrs Wibbs’ Creed

I believe in God the Father – who made the Universe, and this little planet we live on called “Earth”.
I believe in Jesus Christ – the Son of God, who was never made, but always has been – and always will be, God. He became a man, born to a teenage, unmarried girl called Mary, and lived a perfect life on earth for about 33 years.
Jesus was executed on a wooden cross; this was the only way to reconcile us, bring us, the people God made and loves, back to Him. It was the only way to pay for the evil ways of all men and women.
He came back to life after having been dead and separated from his Father for three days. There is enough evidence around to prove that this miracle REALLY happened…
I believe in God the Holy Spirit – who is a person, who is God, and who lives in me; my Counsellor, my Breath of Life.

I believe in the Holy Trinity, that God is three-in-one.
Here’s a bit of an explanation – cos it can get confusing!
a) There is only one God.
b) The Father is God.
c) The Son is God.
d) The Holy Spirit is a Person who is God.
e) The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are distinct from each other.

[What follows is a little technical… Don’t be intimidated by it… But don’t worry if you really don’t get it; many who believe this stuff don’t completely ‘get it’ either!!]
Within the one Being of God, there exists three distinct yet equal persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ is both FULLY GOD and FULLY HUMAN. These two distinct natures, perfect deity and perfect humanity, are inseparably united in the one person of Jesus.
I believe in the full Deity and full personality of the Holy Spirit; it is His work to regenerate me and make me more like Jesus as I grow in my faith.

If you’d like to find out more (even a teeny weeny bit more) about what the Christian faith is all about, take a look at this – I would encourage ANYONE to do an Alpha course at least ONCE in their lives. Honestly. Cos – what if it really IS all true…?!?

Now. Call me crazy if you will – but I am completely, and more in more in love with Jesus every day!
I am blown away to know that the God who made the UNIVERSE, knows me intimately YET also loves me unconditionally.

Yep that means ‘with no conditions’; no ‘ifs’, no ‘buts’. No holds barred. Completely. Warts and all. That kind of thing 😉

How can ANYONE not get shivers down their spine when they start to get their heads around the enormity and the POWER of this love…?!?

Anyway. This is kinda what it looks like for me, being a lover of Jesus.
Jesus is the one I am following; my life, my every waking hour should be (and IS) all about Him and for Him.
Jesus is the one who brings me full life. Life as is should be lived, life lived being the person He (God) intended, created, designed me to be.
And this truth pervades every single area of my life: it affects my praying, but also my working, and my relationships and everything else.
Finally – this full life is for all.
Jesus did not come to form a club of nice people. He came to bring full life for all people. People from every walk of life, rich, poor, young, old, happy, sad, whole and broken.
And I’m proud to be able to say that I’m part of that; it’s called the Church.

Confused…?!?
Not surprised! It’s all very simple, yet also shrouded in awesome mystery.
I will never EVER fully get it…
But that’s not enough to stop me.
